The 2023 Benoît Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet is a finely focused 100% Chardonnay from six parcels across Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The vineyards total around 1.4 hectares, with sites including En Journoblot, Voillenot Dessus, Les Chambres and Les Masures. The wine opens with pear, citrus, white flowers and orange oil, complemented by almond and subtle savoury notes.
On the palate, it is bright and pure, with a satiny texture, lively acidity and a distinctive saline, mineral finish. Moreau uses spontaneous fermentation and very little new oak, helping preserve the wine’s energy and vineyard character. The 2023 received 89–90 points from William Kelley, 88–90 from Neal Martin, and 89 points from Allen Meadows.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for white Burgundy lovers seeking Chassagne-Montrachet with texture, mineral tension and impressive freshness. Give it a little time in bottle and enjoy from around 2027–2035. Ideal with grilled scallops, lobster, roast chicken, barramundi, creamy mushroom dishes or soft cheeses.
