The 2023 Amélie Guillot Trousseau Vieilles Vignes is an old-vine red from Arbois in France’s Jura region, made entirely from Trousseau. The fruit comes from a tiny 0.07-hectare parcel planted in 1954, giving a concentrated yet elegant expression of the variety. Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry mingle with darker berries, dried herbs, cracked pepper and subtle earthy notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and energetic, with bright acidity supporting juicy red and dark fruit, fine-grained tannins and gentle savoury spice. The domaine ferments and matures this old-vine cuvée in stainless steel, avoiding oak influence and allowing the fruit and distinctive Jura character to remain clear and expressive.
