The 2023 Amélie Guillot Chardonnay Vieilles Vignes is an old-vine Chardonnay from Arbois in France’s Jura region. Made entirely from Chardonnay, it offers an expressive nose of white flowers and fresh citrus alongside ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, hazelnut and subtle mineral notes.
On the palate, it is dry, rounded and textural, with fresh acidity balancing the richer Chardonnay fruit. The 2023 release spends around 18 months ageing on fine lees, developing creamy, gently nutty complexity while retaining the saline mineral character associated with Jura Chardonnay.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Chardonnay drinkers looking to explore the Jura through a richer, old-vine expression with fresh acidity, fine texture and savoury complexity. Enjoy now or cellar for further development. Ideal with roast chicken, grilled fish, roast pork, creamy mushroom dishes, Comté or washed-rind cheeses.
