The 2022 Domaine Raquillet Mercurey Premier Cru Les Veleys Rouge is a 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, sourced from an east-facing 0.8-hectare vineyard with vines averaging around 65 years old. The nose shows black cherry and dark berries with liquorice, floral hints, forest-floor notes and restrained oak spice.
On the palate, it is concentrated and structured, with ripe black cherry fruit, fresh mineral character and fine, silky tannins. Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel and around 12 months of oak maturation, giving the wine depth while maintaining freshness.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for those who enjoy structured Premier Cru Burgundy with dark Pinot Noir fruit, fine tannins and mineral freshness. Decant if drinking young, or cellar for further development over the next 5–10 years. Ideal with roast duck, beef, veal, mushroom dishes or game.
