The 2022 Domaine Raquillet Mercurey Premier Cru Les Veleys Blanc is a 100% Chardonnay from the Côte Chalonnaise in Burgundy, sourced from a 0.7-hectare site near Chamirey with vines averaging around 65 years old. The nose opens with white flowers, ripe orchard fruit and citrus, alongside almond, hazelnut and subtle oak notes.
On the palate, it is broad and textured without feeling heavy, combining ripe Chardonnay fruit with fresh acidity and a mineral edge. Fermentation takes place in 400-litre barrels, followed by extended maturation on fine lees, adding depth while maintaining balance and freshness.
