2018 Domaine De La Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin Magnum

Pale and limpid ruby-purple. Expressive aromas of wild cherry, black raspberry, herbes de Provence, lavender, violets, licorice, dusty minerals, and a hint of baking spice. Structured and broad on the palate, it has firm, granular tannins interspersed with flavors of black cherry, red currant, wild herbs, and a touch of pink peppercorn. Muscular and dense, it is enjoyable now for its youthful power, but will add more earthen depth and high toned floral notes with patient cellaring.
