The 2021 Coppabella Sirius Chardonnay is a premium Tumbarumba Chardonnay crafted from fruit sourced from the estate’s best high-altitude vineyard blocks. Produced in a refined cool-climate Australian style, the wine was whole bunch pressed and fermented in French oak, with lees ageing adding texture and complexity while preserving the bright acidity and mineral structure that define Tumbarumba Chardonnay.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity and a layered, creamy texture, delivering flavours of white peach, grapefruit and lemon curd alongside toasted cashew, nougat and subtle flinty mineral notes. Careful oak integration adds depth and savoury complexity without overwhelming the fruit, leading to a long, finely balanced finish with excellent precision and tension.
Ben’s Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent Chardonnay for customers who enjoy refined cool-climate styles with texture, freshness and restrained oak influence. Tumbarumba’s elevated vineyards give the wine purity and finesse while maintaining impressive concentration and ageing potential. Drinking beautifully now and capable of evolving further over the next 5–8 years. Ideal with roast chicken, grilled lobster, creamy seafood dishes or mushroom risotto.
