2010 Chateau Musar Museum Release

The 2010 Château Musar “Museum Release” is a mature release of one of Lebanon’s most legendary wines, produced from high-altitude vineyards in the Bekaa Valley and crafted from the traditional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan. Released after extended ageing at the winery, the Museum Release program showcases Musar at a more evolved and expressive stage, offering collectors a rare opportunity to experience the wine with additional bottle maturity.

The 2010 vintage is regarded as one of the stronger modern Musar releases, combining concentration, freshness and remarkable complexity. The warm growing season produced wines with depth and ripeness, while the estate’s long élevage preserved balance and tertiary character. The result is a vintage that captures both the richness of the year and the unmistakable savoury personality of Château Musar.

The nose is intensely aromatic and layered, showing blackberry, plum and dried cherry alongside leather, cedar, tobacco, exotic spice and earthy complexity. Signature Musar notes of balsamic lift, game and volatile savouriness give the wine its distinctive identity. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with silky tannins and vibrant acidity supporting evolved dark fruit, spice and earthy mineral notes. The finish is long, savoury and constantly evolving in the glass, showing both maturity and energy.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, Château Musar remains one of the most unique and conversation-worthy wines we offer, and the 2010 Museum Release is a fantastic example of why the estate has such a cult following worldwide. Compared to Bordeaux, it’s more savoury, earthy and unpredictable; compared to Rhône wines, it carries more tertiary complexity and wild character. This is not a polished modern wine — it’s about personality, evolution and individuality. The Museum Release format is especially appealing because the wine has already been aged carefully at the winery before release, making it beautifully approachable while still cellar-worthy. Best enjoyed with extended decanting. Drink now or over the next 15–20+ years. Perfect with lamb, Middle Eastern cuisine, game or slow-cooked dishes.
