The Champagne Vouette et Sorbée Fidèle Blanc de Noirs NV (Base 2021, Disgorged October 2024) is a beautifully vinous and terroir-driven Pinot Noir Champagne from one of the Aube’s pioneering biodynamic grower estates. Produced entirely from Pinot Noir grown on Kimmeridgian limestone soils in Buxières-sur-Arce, the wine reflects Bertrand Gautherot’s uncompromising low-intervention philosophy, with fermentation in oak, no filtration and minimal dosage preserving both texture and vineyard character. The nose reveals baked apple, blood orange and ripe red berry fruit layered alongside toasted brioche, dried herbs and subtle smoky mineral notes, giving the wine impressive depth and individuality.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine mousse, vibrant natural acidity and a deep saline mineral core. Layers of orchard fruit, citrus peel and savoury lees complexity are balanced by chalky tension and gentle Pinot richness, finishing dry, textured and beautifully persistent with remarkable energy and structure. The cooler 2021 base vintage contributes freshness and precision, giving the wine a particularly focused and finely detailed profile.
