The Champagne Laherte Frères Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature NV (Base 2021, Disgorged April 2024) (1500ml) is a beautifully focused and mineral-driven grower Champagne from one of the Marne Valley’s leading biodynamic producers. Produced entirely from Chardonnay grown on chalk and clay-limestone soils, the wine is bottled with no dosage, allowing the purity, freshness and vineyard character to remain at the forefront. The nose reveals lemon zest, green apple and white peach layered alongside white flowers, brioche and subtle chalky minerality, giving the wine impressive lift and finesse.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with fine mousse, vibrant natural acidity and a tightly focused mineral core. Layers of citrus, orchard fruit and savoury lees complexity are balanced by saline freshness and chalky tension, finishing bone dry, energetic and beautifully persistent with excellent precision and detail. The cooler 2021 base vintage contributes additional freshness and linearity, while the magnum format enhances both texture and ageing potential over time.
