The 2024 Cep by Cep Anjou Blanc is a beautifully vibrant and mineral-driven Chenin Blanc from western Anjou in the Loire Valley. Produced from organically farmed vineyards around Rochefort-sur-Loire on schist-rich volcanic soils, the wine reflects the fresh, terroir-focused approach of Philippe Germain and the wider Loire minimal-intervention movement. The nose reveals lemon zest, green apple and pear layered alongside honeysuckle, chalky stone and subtle smoky reduction, giving the wine impressive energy and precision.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity, fine textural depth and a tightly wound mineral core. Layers of citrus, orchard fruit and delicate savoury complexity are balanced by saline freshness and chalky tension, finishing dry, crisp and beautifully detailed with excellent persistence and drive. Fermented in a combination of tank and older large-format oak, the wine retains freshness while adding subtle texture and structure.
