2020 Domaines Leflaive "Le Monte" is a single-parcel Chardonnay from the Mâconnais, sourced from a small 0.94ha vineyard on clay-limestone soils rich in flint, overlooking the Verzé valley. Farmed biodynamically and produced with minimal intervention, it reflects Leflaive’s hallmark style of purity, energy and mineral precision.
The nose is lifted and refined, showing lemon, green apple and pear, layered with white flowers, flinty minerality and subtle smoky notes. There is a clear sense of terroir, with both citrus freshness and a chiselled, mineral-driven aromatic profile.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a vibrant, energetic structure and bright acidity. Citrus and orchard fruit are supported by a saline, mineral backbone and light lees-derived texture, leading to a long, precise and lively finish. The style is defined by purity, tension and finesse, offering both immediate drinkability and ageing potential over 5–10+ years.
