Based in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was formed in 1999 when wine entrepreneur Jean-Claude Boisset decided to consolidate all the vineyard holdings of his various négociant companies acquired over the years. With nearly 40 hectares of vineyard area and over 30 different appellations – including six Grand Crus – Vougeraie is one of Burgundy’s shining stars. This is the Domaine’s village-level Puligny-Montrachet made from three different plots. The younger vines, which were planted in 2006, add freshness, and the remaining two-thirds of the vines, which were planted in 1956, provide the structure. The wine is still in its prime youth and will benefit from a few years in the cellar before being opened.
