The 2022 Heartland Directors’ Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful Langhorne Creek red crafted by Ben Glaetzer from selected old-vine Cabernet fruit. The nose shows black cherry and blackcurrant with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, combining concentrated fruit with warm spice and subtle oak complexity.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with layers of dark fruit supported by firm, chalky tannins and fresh acidity. Notes of blackcurrant, cherry, clove and subtle molasses lead to a long, defined finish. Around 12 months in 75% new French oak hogsheads adds depth and structure.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Cabernet Sauvignon drinkers who enjoy concentrated dark fruit, firm tannins and savoury oak complexity. Enjoy now with decanting or cellar for further development. Pair with grilled steak, roast lamb, slow-cooked beef or mature cheeses.
