Tar & Roses Chardonnay 2023 is a cool‑climate Australian white wine from the Mornington Peninsula, known for producing refined Chardonnay styles. It typically shows aromas of white peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and citrus blossom, complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and toasted nuts from gentle oak influence. On the palate, it is medium‑bodied with a creamy texture balanced by vibrant acidity and a clean, mineral‑tinged finish that feels both refreshing and elegant.
Whole-bunch pressed to French oak (20% new) for fermentation and maturation; 11 months on lees. Intrinsically Peninsula in style and mouth-watering acidity. Generous in stone fruit, lemon, quince, nougat, clotted cream with a hint of toasted nuttiness. Fills the mouth with flavour, clean and lively, with aforementioned acidity doing its job very well indeed. Don't over chill. - 92 points, Jeni Port
