A vibrant, textural rosato from Pat Underwood’s Little Reddie label, blending both red and white varieties from high-altitude granite vineyards around Leanganook and Faraday. Made with a mix of ferment techniques and varying skin contact, the wine balances freshness, savoury texture and crunchy drinkability beautifully. The nose shows strawberry, cranberry and blood orange alongside rose petal, Campari-like herbs and subtle spice. There’s a bright alpine freshness and lightly savoury edge that gives the wine plenty of energy and character.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy red fruit, refreshing acidity and gentle salty tannins. Fresh, crunchy and highly drinkable, with a slightly bitter orange-rind finish that makes it incredibly food friendly.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A seriously fun modern Victorian rosato - vibrant, savoury and perfect slightly chilled. More textural and interesting than simple rosé styles while still remaining dangerously easy to drink. Excellent with charcuterie, seafood, pizza or sunny afternoon drinking. Drink now through 2028+.
