Deep ruby with a hint of purple, heady aromas of cigar box, cassis and liquorice fill the glass. The supple and harmonious palate melds juicy plums, ripe berries and black currant with liquorice, spice, herbs and black olives which are further complemented by attractively integrated savoury oak. Extended maturation in French oak barriques has created fine, silty tannins and a long finish, promising to reward with careful cellaring up to 20 years.
