The 2023 S.C. Pannell Dead End Tempranillo is a vibrant McLaren Vale red sourced from mature vineyards along with fruit from Pannell’s Koomilya vineyard. The nose shows dark cherry and cassis with sarsaparilla, dried thyme, sandalwood, rose petals and savoury spice, giving the wine a distinctly Iberian-inspired character.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with generous red and dark fruit supported by fine tannins and fresh acidity. Layers of cherry, spice and savoury herbs build through the palate, leading to a persistent, well-structured finish with plenty of Tempranillo character.
