The 2021 Brockenchack Jack Harrison Single Vineyard Shiraz is a premium expression of Barossa Valley Shiraz, produced by Brockenchack from a single vineyard and named in honour of Jack Harrison, the family's patriarch. It showcases the combination of rich Barossa fruit, mature vines and careful small-batch winemaking that gives the wine its depth and individuality.

The bouquet is generous and expressive, opening with blackberry, blueberry, black plum and ripe black cherry, followed by violet, liquorice and dark chocolate. As it opens, aromas of vanilla, cedar, mocha, baking spice and subtle smoked meat emerge. There is a distinctly Barossa-like combination of ripe dark fruit and savoury spice, but the wine retains enough freshness to avoid becoming overly heavy.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with layers of blackberry, plum and black cherry supported by firm but polished tannins. Dark chocolate, liquorice and espresso notes add depth, while well-integrated French oak contributes subtle vanilla, cedar and spice. The mid-palate is powerful and plush, but the wine maintains a savoury backbone and fresh acidity that keeps the finish balanced.

The finish is long, warm and persistent, with dark fruit, cocoa, liquorice and spicy oak lingering alongside a subtle peppery note. The single-vineyard character gives the wine more detail and structure than a typical entry-level Barossa Shiraz.
