The 2024 Hesketh Woodside Gamay is a vibrant cool-climate red sourced from a vineyard in Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. The nose is highly aromatic, showing violet, blueberry and crimson cherry with dried leafy spice and subtle earthy notes. The wine received 95 points and Gold at the 2024 Adelaide Hills Wine Show.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy red fruit, crunchy cranberry acidity and fine, glossy tannins. Whole-berry fermentation with a portion of whole bunches brings aromatic lift and savoury detail, followed by six months in seasoned oak. The finish is fresh, spicy and persistent.
