The 2024 Moorooduc Estate Garden Vineyard Pinot Noir is a distinctive single-vineyard expression from the Mornington Peninsula. The Garden Vineyard sits just across the hill from Moorooduc’s home McIntyre Vineyard and has been leased and managed by the estate for more than a decade. Its Pinot Noir blocks occupy north- and west-facing slopes over relatively dense clay subsoil, which naturally moderates vine vigour.
A defining feature of the Garden Vineyard Pinot Noir is its 100% whole-bunch fermentation, an exception to Moorooduc’s usual approach of destemming its reds. This gives the wine a particularly aromatic and savoury personality, with dark cherry, raspberry and pomegranate complemented by violet, dried herbs, earthy notes and exotic spice. Fine tannins and fresh acidity provide structure, while the whole bunches contribute additional fragrance, complexity and a subtle herbal edge.

At Wine More Cellars, Garden Vineyard is one of Moorooduc Estate’s most distinctive Pinot Noirs. Compared with McIntyre, it is more perfumed and spice-driven, with whole-bunch fermentation bringing extra floral, herbal and savoury complexity. Compared with Robinson, it offers a more exotic and expressive personality while retaining classic Mornington Peninsula freshness. The 2024 is an excellent choice for Pinot lovers who enjoy aromatic, savoury and terroir-driven styles. Drink from 2027 onwards or cellar for 8–12+ years. Perfect with duck, quail, pork, mushroom dishes and game birds.
