2020 Aphelion The Emergent Mourvèdre is a distinctive single-varietal expression from McLaren Vale, crafted by winemaker Rob Mack. Sourced from a tiny, hand-picked vineyard in the White’s Valley sub-district, the wine showcases the savoury depth and structure that Mourvèdre can achieve when bottled on its own. Aromas leap from the glass with notes of sage, cherry spice and fresh almonds, while the medium-bodied palate reveals dark fruit, savoury complexity and bright acidity. Fine, powdery tannins carry through to a long, elegant finish, making it both approachable now and suitable for cellaring through the end of the decade.
