The 2009 Château Troplong Mondot Grand Cru Classé is a richly expressive Saint-Émilion from one of the appellation's most renowned estates. Produced predominantly from Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the outstanding 2009 vintage combines impressive concentration with freshness and finesse. The nose is beautifully layered with aromas of black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum, complemented by violet, liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with silky, well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity that keeps the wine beautifully balanced. Flavours of cassis, dark berries and cocoa are supported by notes of graphite, crushed stone and finely judged French oak, leading to a long, polished finish.
