The 2024 Moorooduc Estate McIntyre Pinot Noir is a refined and concentrated single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. The McIntyre Vineyard is Moorooduc Estate’s original home vineyard, established by Richard and Jill McIntyre in 1983, and today provides some of the estate’s finest fruit for its Single Vineyard range. The vineyard is farmed with an increasing focus on regenerative practices, while the wines are made in small batches using wild yeast fermentation and hands-on, minimal-intervention techniques.

On the palate, the 2024 shows the greater concentration and complexity associated with the McIntyre site, combining vibrant red and dark cherry fruit with savoury herbs, spice and subtle earthy notes. Fine tannins and fresh cool-climate acidity provide structure and definition, while the wine retains the elegance and restraint that characterise Moorooduc Estate Pinot Noir. The result is a layered, site-driven Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir with impressive depth, freshness and ageing potential.

Ben's Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Pinot Noir lovers wanting to explore the more serious single-vineyard side of Mornington Peninsula. I particularly like the history behind McIntyre - it is the family’s original vineyard and remains at the heart of Moorooduc Estate more than 40 years after the first vines were planted. The 2024 combines concentration with the savoury, elegant character that makes Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir so compelling. Enjoy from around 2028 or cellar into the early-to-mid 2030s. Pair with roast duck, quail, mushroom dishes, grilled lamb, truffle or roast chicken.
