The Champagne Larmandier-Bernier 1er Cru Longitude Blanc de Blancs NV (Base 2021, Disgorged September 2024) is a beautifully linear and mineral-driven grower Champagne from one of the Côte des Blancs’ benchmark biodynamic estates. Produced entirely from Chardonnay grown on chalk-rich Premier Cru vineyards along the same longitudinal vein through Vertus, Oger, Avize and Cramant, the wine reflects Pierre Larmandier’s terroir-focused philosophy and restrained winemaking style. The nose reveals lemon zest, green apple and white peach layered alongside white flowers, brioche and intense chalky minerality, giving the wine remarkable precision and freshness.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with exceptionally fine mousse, vibrant natural acidity and a tightly wound mineral core. Layers of citrus peel, orchard fruit and delicate lees complexity are balanced by saline freshness and chalky tension, finishing dry, focused and beautifully persistent with outstanding energy and finesse. The cooler 2021 base vintage contributes additional precision and linearity, reinforcing the wine’s crisp and terroir-driven character.
