A refined expression of Northern Rhône white, the 2022 Saint-Joseph “Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph” Blanc from E. Guigal is crafted predominantly from Marsanne with a small portion of Roussanne, grown on steep granite slopes that lend the wine both power and elegance.
The nose opens with white peach, ripe pear, acacia flowers, and toasted hazelnut, layered with subtle notes of vanilla and gentle oak spice from barrel ageing. On the palate, the wine is rich and textured, showing flavours of stone fruit, citrus zest, almond, and a touch of honey, balanced by fresh acidity and mineral tension. The finish is long, creamy, and slightly smoky, revealing the depth and complexity characteristic of top Saint-Joseph whites.
