2018 Domaine De La Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Bel Air Magnum

This is an extremely well-situated vineyard, located adjacent to and immediately above Chambertin Clos de Beze. It is also just next to Ruchottes Chambertin, at the same level on the slope. Yet it is relatively unknown, and not too pricey! This vintage is showing beautifully, with elegant structure anf fine minerality. This was made by Pascal Marchand, formerly of Clos des Epeneaux in Pommard, during his tenure at Vougeraie. The vineyard is 25 and 40 years old, and is farmed organically and biodynamically.
