2025-commune-of-buttons-basket-town-chardonnay
2025 Commune of Buttons Basket Town Chardonnay

The 2025 Commune of Buttons Basket Town Chardonnay is a refined Adelaide Hills white sourced from organically farmed parcels in the Piccadilly Valley and surrounding Basket Range area. The hot, dry 2025 season produced generous fruit and palate weight, while the wine retains the bright acidity and mineral freshness associated with these elevated sites. It shows ripe lemon, green apple and white peach alongside pear, white flowers, citrus zest and subtle savoury notes.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely textured, with generous orchard fruit balanced by lively acidity and a clear mineral throughline. Lemon, ripe apple and white peach are complemented by subtle floral, saline and savoury characters, while time on full lees adds additional weight and a gentle creamy texture. The wine was naturally fermented and matured in seasoned barriques and puncheons before further time in tank on fine lees, allowing the fruit and mineral character to remain at the centre. The finish is dry, focused and persistent, with lingering citrus, orchard fruit and subtle nutty notes.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Chardonnay drinkers who enjoy expressive Adelaide Hills whites with generous texture, fresh acidity and mineral detail. The warm vintage gives it a little more weight, while its savoury character keeps the palate balanced and food-friendly. Best enjoyed over the next 4–7 years. Serve lightly chilled with seared scallops, butter-poached marron, roast chicken with tarragon, grilled snapper with lemon butter, pork and fennel terrine, or mushroom and leek risotto.

Info

COUNTRY

Australia

PRODUCER

Commune of Buttons

VARIETY

Chardonnay

STYLE

White Wine

VINTAGE

2025

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2025CommuneofButtonsBasketTownChardonnay.jpg?v=1793618988
