2024-voyager-estate-chardonnay
2024 Voyager Estate Chardonnay

The 2024 Voyager Estate Chardonnay is a refined Margaret River Chardonnay from the cooler Stevens Valley in Wallcliffe, where gentle slopes of gravelly soils over stony clay are influenced by cooling breezes from the Indian Ocean. The wine is led by Gingin Chardonnay with a smaller contribution from Dijon clone 76, bringing together ripe fruit, freshness and fine texture. The 2024 vintage was warm and dry, with an early harvest that helped preserve acidity while delivering generous fruit weight.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and beautifully textured, showing lemon, grapefruit, nashi pear and white peach alongside delicate floral, nutty and savoury notes. The wine has a fine, grainy texture with juicy acidity, while subtle vanilla, almond and gentle oak spice add depth without overwhelming the fruit. Larger-format French puncheons and a reduced contribution of new oak in 2024 keep the style focused and mineral-driven, allowing the coastal vineyard character to remain prominent. The finish is dry, long and persistent, with lingering citrus, pear, spice and a subtle saline-mineral edge.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Chardonnay drinkers who enjoy Margaret River whites with generous fruit, fine texture and refreshing acidity. It is approachable now but has enough structure and mineral freshness to develop additional savoury and nutty complexity with bottle age. Best enjoyed over the next 6–10 years. Serve lightly chilled with butter-poached marron, seared scallops with brown butter, grilled turbot with beurre blanc, roast chicken with morels, lobster, or mushroom and truffle risotto.

Info

COUNTRY

Australia

PRODUCER

Voyager Estate

VARIETY

Chardonnay

STYLE

White Wine

VINTAGE

2024

SIZE

750ml
