The site’s slate and phyllite-rich soils, combined with its elevated position, give the wine a distinctive mineral character and natural freshness. It shows lemon, lime and green apple alongside white peach, grapefruit, white flowers and subtle herbal notes, with the 2024 vintage bringing ripe fruit while retaining excellent acidity and precision.

On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied and finely textured, with vibrant acidity supporting layers of citrus, orchard fruit and delicate stone fruit. Lemon and lime are complemented by green apple, pear and white peach, while grapefruit and subtle floral notes add aromatic lift. A fine stony and saline mineral character provides tension and length, keeping the dry palate focused and mouth-watering. Gentle herbal and savoury nuances develop as it opens, leading to a clean, precise and persistent finish with lingering citrus and mineral notes.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Riesling drinkers who enjoy dry German whites with lively acidity, mineral freshness and pure fruit character. It is approachable in its youth but has enough structure to develop additional citrus, savoury and mineral complexity with bottle age. Best enjoyed over the next 5–8 years. Serve chilled with oysters, kingfish ceviche, grilled whiting with lemon and herbs, steamed mussels, roast chicken with preserved lemon, or goat’s cheese and herb tart.

Info

COUNTRY

German

PRODUCER

Robert Weil

VARIETY

Riesling

STYLE

White Wine / Trocken

VINTAGE

2024

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2024RobertWeilKiedrichTurmbergRieslingTrocken.png?v=1793736133
