Crafted in a region celebrated for its botrytised white wines, this cuvée reflects the balance of concentrated fruit, natural sweetness and vibrant acidity that defines fine Barsac. The nose offers aromas of ripe apricot, candied orange peel, white peach and quince, complemented by delicate notes of acacia honey, saffron, citrus blossom and subtle spice.

On the palate, it is richly textured with a smooth, concentrated mouthfeel and refreshing acidity that provides balance and precision. Flavours of dried apricot, orange marmalade, poached pear and ripe stone fruit unfold alongside hints of honeycomb, preserved lemon and gentle baking spice. The wine's sweetness is supported by bright citrus freshness, creating a layered profile without excessive heaviness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving lingering impressions of candied citrus, golden orchard fruit and delicate savoury complexity.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for customers who appreciate French sweet wines with concentrated fruit, refined texture and balanced acidity. The 2024 Château Closiot Cuvée Bonneau offers an interesting expression of Barsac, combining ripe stone-fruit richness with the freshness and complexity associated with the appellation. Enjoyable in its youth, with a suggested drinking window of 2026–2038 and potential for further development under suitable cellaring conditions. Best served chilled at 8–10°C. Particularly well suited to blue cheese, foie gras, apricot tart, roasted peaches, almond cake or pear and walnut desserts.

Info

COUNTRY

France

PRODUCER

Château Closiot

VARIETY

Sémillon

STYLE

Sweet Wine

VINTAGE

2024

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2024ChateauClosiotBarsacCuveeBonneau.png?v=1793912781
