The wine combines the fragrant red-fruit character typical of Gevrey-Chambertin with a fine mineral edge and polished structure, giving it both freshness and depth. Its balanced profile makes it approachable while still showing the seriousness of its village appellation.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely textured, with vibrant acidity, silky tannins and layers of red and dark fruit. Cherry and raspberry are complemented by wild strawberry, violet, dried herbs and subtle peppery spice, while gentle earthy and mineral notes add complexity through the mid-palate. The texture is supple and precise, with fine-grained tannins providing structure without overpowering the fresh fruit. As the wine opens, savoury nuances become more pronounced, leading to a dry, elegant and persistent finish with lingering red berry, floral and mineral notes.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Burgundy drinkers who enjoy refined Gevrey-Chambertin with freshness, aromatic detail and fine tannins. The 2024 vintage is youthful and will benefit from some bottle development, allowing additional earthy, savoury and spicy complexity to emerge. Best enjoyed over the next 5–8 years. Pair with roast duck and cherry jus, roast quail with wild mushrooms, pork tenderloin with fennel, beef fillet with mushroom jus, or truffle and porcini risotto.

Info

COUNTRY

France

PRODUCER

Benjamin Leroux

VARIETY

Pinot Noir

STYLE

Red Wine

VINTAGE

2024

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2024BenjaminLerouxGevrey-Chambertin.png?v=1793641663
