The Carillon family’s winegrowing roots stretch back to 1520, and Jacques continues that heritage with an emphasis on finesse, balance and vineyard character. His Les Champs Canet comes from a 0.55-hectare holding of mature vines, which the estate describes as producing a particularly fine, subtle and floral wine. Its élevage comprises one year in barrel, with 20% new oak, followed by six months in stainless steel, developing texture while preserving freshness and definition.

The 2023 offers white flowers, apple, pear, peach and lemon, with delicate oak spice and a subtle herbal lift. Its generously proportioned palate combines an inviting, supple texture with mineral detail and a long, balanced finish. Allen Meadows of Burghound awarded it 90–93 Points and his "Outstanding" distinction, highlighting its attractive texture and noting that Champs Canet is often approachable relatively young, although further cellaring should build complexity. Jasper Morris MW subsequently awarded 91 Points in October 2025, describing ample palate volume, yellow plum and pear fruit, with a suggested drinking window of 2027–2032. This is a Premier Cru Puligny whose appeal rests on floral charm, texture and measured structure.

Info

COUNTRY

France

PRODUCER

Jacques Carillon

VARIETY

Chardonnay

STYLE

White Wine

VINTAGE

2023

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2023_Domaine_Jacques_Carillon_Puligny_Montrachet_Premier_Cru_Les_Champs_Canet.jpg?v=1791624052
https://winemore.com.au/products/2023-domaine-jacques-carillon-puligny-montrachet-premier-cru-les-champs-canet
