2022-meadowbank-blanc-de-noirs
2022 Meadowbank Blanc de Noirs

The 2022 Meadowbank Blanc de Noirs is a refined Tasmanian sparkling wine made entirely from Pinot Noir grown on Meadowbank’s Wedding Block in the Derwent Valley. It shows crunchy red berries, red apple and forest fruits alongside fennel, white flowers, pastry and subtle mushroom notes. Three years on tirage have added depth and complexity, while a very low dosage keeps the wine exceptionally dry and precise.

On the palate, it is broad and creamy yet remarkably energetic, with fine bubbles, crisp briny acidity and layers of red apple, strawberry and delicate citrus. Savoury fennel, mushroom, pastry and subtle nutty notes add complexity through the mid-palate, while a fine mineral character gives the wine tension and length. The texture is polished and generous without becoming heavy, leading to a long, dry and cleansing finish with lingering red fruit, saline and mineral notes.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for sparkling wine drinkers who enjoy serious Tasmanian Blanc de Noirs with depth, texture and gastronomic character. The Extra Brut style makes it particularly versatile at the table, while the combination of Pinot Noir richness and cool-climate acidity gives it excellent balance. Best enjoyed now or over the next 5 years. Serve chilled with oysters, smoked salmon, seared scallops, roast poultry, lobster, or mushroom and truffle dishes.

Info

COUNTRY

Australia

PRODUCER

Meadowbank

VARIETY

Pinot Noir

STYLE

Sparkling White Wine (Blanc de Noirs)

VINTAGE

2022

SIZE

750ml
