2022-champagne-laherte-freres-grand-cru-bouzy
2022 Champagne Laherte Frères Grand Cru Bouzy

The 2022 Champagne Laherte Frères Grand Cru Bouzy is a refined Blanc de Noirs made entirely from Pinot Noir grown in two south-facing parcels in Bouzy, one of the Montagne de Reims’ most celebrated Grand Cru villages. The vines, planted in 1986 and 1988, provide concentrated fruit with excellent natural structure, while Bouzy’s chalk-rich soils bring freshness and mineral precision. The wine shows red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant alongside blood orange, rose petal, subtle spice, toasted notes and a delicate savoury character. Disgorged in November 2025 with just 2 g/L dosage, it retains a distinctly dry and focused profile.

On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and beautifully textured, with vibrant acidity, fine persistent bubbles and a generous yet structured mouthfeel. Red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant are complemented by blood orange, citrus peel, delicate floral notes and subtle toast, while a fine chalky and saline mineral character provides tension and length. Fermentation in barrel without malolactic conversion preserves the wine’s natural freshness and energy, while extended lees ageing contributes a gentle creamy texture and additional savoury complexity. The finish is dry, long and persistent, leaving lingering red fruit, citrus, chalk and subtle spice.

Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Champagne drinkers who enjoy serious Blanc de Noirs with Grand Cru depth, fine texture and mineral freshness. The 2022 vintage has the concentration, acidity and structure to develop further brioche, nutty, savoury and earthy complexity with bottle age. Best enjoyed from around 2028–2036, although it is already rewarding with food. Serve chilled with gougères, roast quail with mushrooms, seared scallops, roast chicken with thyme, wild mushroom risotto, or veal with a light cream and mushroom sauce.

Info

COUNTRY

France

PRODUCER

Laherte Frères

VARIETY

Pinot Noir

STYLE

Blanc de Noirs Champagne

VINTAGE

2022 (Disg.
