Founded in Beaune in 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils acquired its 0.89-hectare Montrachet holding in 1838, establishing a connection with the vineyard that spans nearly two centuries. Situated on the Puligny-Montrachet side, the parcel benefits from an east-to-southeast exposure and relatively deep clay and marl soils. Careful hand harvesting, meticulous sorting and gentle pressing underpin a wine whose concentration is matched by remarkable finesse.

The 2022 reveals ripe apple, quince, candied lemon and tangerine peel, layered with white flowers, almond and a pronounced chalky mineral character. Decanter awarded 98 Points, highlighting its immense presence, freshness and balance between power and delicacy, while JamesSuckling.com also awarded 98 Points, praising its concentration, structure and graceful delivery. Jasper Morris MW’s early assessment of 97–99 Points emphasised its density, suave texture and long-term potential. This remains a youthful Montrachet, with a substantial core still waiting to unfold fully, supported by mineral acidity and the breadth to develop increasingly intricate savoury and nutty detail with age.

Info

COUNTRY

France

PRODUCER

Bouchard Père & Fils

VARIETY

Chardonnay

STYLE

White Wine

VINTAGE

2022

SIZE

750ml

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/6779/7699/files/2022_Bouchard_Pere_And_Fils_Montrachet_Grand_Cru.jpg?v=1792455352
