The bouquet is certainly complex and will be quite promising, if its customary sigture of soil returns, as the fruit elements of sappy black cherries and plums, dark chocolate, woodsmoke, gentle spice tones and vanillin oak is now nicely augmented by soil tones, but usually has even more terroir in its aromatic profile at this point in its evolution. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and has a lovely underlying chassis of structure, with a sappy core of fruit, fine-grained tannins and a long, focused and promising finish.
